Classic John Sterling: Does it Get Any Better?

By Mike Silva ~ April 20th, 2012. Filed under: New York Yankees, Sports Media Commentary.

I recently talked about the charm of the Yankees WCBS 880 broadcast team: John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman.

A recent game-ending call by Sterling is making it rounds across the internet and Bob’s Blitz has it for us.

Is this not classic Sterling? Does it get any better?

Sterling is terrible. I would rather hear the Yankee broadcast from a Red Sox station than hear his self serving over the top announcing. Every year gets worse. Waldman is a cheerleader with a microphone. Worst team in radio.

I’m not sure what’s worse, listening to Sterling or listening to Carton talking about and imitating Sterling.
