Can You Read Ozzie Guillen’s Lips?

By Mike Silva ~ April 28th, 2011. Filed under: Mike Silva.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was in rare form at Yankee Stadium last night. Arguing a strike three call he went crazy on the umpire. If you were watching the game, like me, you clearly heard some four letter words not even suitable for this non FCC regulated website. Click on the photo and let me know.

For the record, the pitch was borderline. I think Bartolo Colon caught a break, but the former Sox hurler was dealing last night.

Imagine if an umpire called one of Ozzie’s players out because a third basemen told him the player was off the base? Apparently, that is what happened last night when Jose Reyes was called out trying to stretch a double into a triple. Jerry Hairston Jr. “sold” the call to the third base umpire by saying his hand was off the bag when it was not.

I could understand the mistake, but the umpire was standing right there. How do you take the word of an opposing player? What gives?
