Very Cool Softbank Hawks Commercial
Tuesday, March 27th, 2012I don’t think I have ever seen a promo for a sports team quite like this one for the Softbank Hawks.

As a tribute to Gary Carter, Annakin Slayd, a musician from Montreal, recorded a song called “Kid” along with a video featuring highlights of Carter during his playing days. There are some great highlights from Carter’s days in Montreal and New York.
During last night’s Knicks-Nuggets game at the Garden, Mike Piazza appeared at halftime with Jill Martin on the MSG Network. You can watch the segment below, but some of the highlights were Piazza saying he and Johnny Bench are tied as “the best hitting catchers of all-time,” how he would like to go into the [...]
Our friend Joe Pickering Jr. of King of the Road Music sent us here in New York a fun X-Mas song. Like it? You can purchase it by going to CD Baby. Have a good holiday everyone. I will be back at it tomorrow.
Found this courtesy of Sports Grid. Bobby Valentine is a known ballroom dancer, so I guess we know where he gets his moves from. This is an interesting side of Bobby V, to say the least.
I mentioned during my Winter Meetings radio shows that I had a chance to learn about new Mets centerfielder Andres Torres in the Showtime series “The Franchise.” Below is a 3-minute clip of the profile they ran on Torres ascent to becoming the Giants starting centerfielder during the 2010 championship season. At about the 1:30 mark [...]
This is a few years old, but I wanted to share with everyone our very own Frank Russo’s appearance on SNY with Bill Madden of the Daily News and Mets broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt. Gary Apple is the moderator. Two individuals of interest they talk about are former Yankees Billy Martin and Thurman Munson. You can [...]
Great interview that I found via Bob’s Blitz. Sterling says he has a “big fat mouth” and “big fat head.” I couldn’t agree more. There is also a great story about how the Red Sox pitchers actually imitated his home run call in September. You also get to see Mike Francesa uncut; not quite as [...]
Check out this News 12 New Jersey spot on our very own Frank Russo. You can check out his book Bury My Heart at Cooperstown over at Amazon.
It’s been a wild September (pun intended!) for both leagues Wild Card teams. We could very well see 1-game playoffs in both leagues if the Braves, Cardinals, Rays, and Red Sox all win their respective games. Game 7 TV brings up back to a classic pennant race that resulted in a one-game playoff. Everyone remembers [...]
This was during the Marlins inaugural season when it was still called Joe Robbie. Yes, that’s Frank Tanana on the mound. Great hearing Tim McCarver and Ralph Kiner in the booth for what was, at the time, a WOR Channel 9 game. If you play in an area where rain was clearly going to be [...]
Watch Darryl Strawberry on David Letterman. The title says 1987, but when you hear him speak it’s 1988 (Wrigley with lights referenced). Thought this was kind of interesting for everyone to enjoy.
Today is the 32nd anniversary of the death of Thurman Munson. Below is a link to a video that I have posted on You Tube that I think the readers would like.
