Wright and Francesa Make Amends
By Mike Silva ~ March 2nd, 2009. Filed under: Sports Media Commentary.
Mike Francesa announced last night that he and David Wright “made amends” after last Friday’s radio fiasco. Neil Best also reported on this earlier today.
During last night’s Grapefruit Roundup I opined that Francesa feuding with the Mets is a good thing. Why you ask? Do you remember the last New York sports team that had this type of feud with Francesa? It would be none other than the 2007 Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
For years Francesa, and Russo at the time, fought with Tiki Barber, Strahan, Shockey, and even coach Coughlin. The dynamic duo didn’t like “their attitude” and how they talked better than their play. The Giants wound up having one of the greatest postseason runs in NFL history to shut both those guys up. Now they are part of Francesa’s “Hall of Heroes” – something that I will talk more about this week.
Hopefully, the David Wright, Mets, and Francesa feud ends the same way.

Wright should have continued to ignore him…Mets probably forced him to make amends.
