No way Derek Jeter is SS in 2012. Austin Romine has a cannon for an arm and hits very well – and whose fathr, Kevin, played inthe Majors. Once he reaches the majors, Jesus Montero is locked in as DH for at least a decade ( and some 1B too). Another DH/1B will probably be Brandon Laird, who, in Single A Charleston, hit 23 HR’s, including 11 (with 37 RBI’s) in August. Exept fo batting average his offensive numbers were better than Montero’s, he also has good blood lines as his brother is Gerald Laird, the catcher for the Texas Rangers.
That lineup also suggests Cano is not going anywhere. Also, the 2012 season is the first year after Jorge Posada’s contract ends.

There’s no way the Yankees employ that many home grown players in the lineup

Good point, Joey.
Maybe if the Yankees sign a bushel of free agents this off season and don’t win in 2009 or 2010, they could go back to the youth movement. With all that money being spent, and still no championships, maybe they will revert back to the youngsters.
Probably not, though. It is the Yankees after all.
