Bobby Valentine would take the Mets job?

This morning heard on Sportscenter that Bobby Valentine told ESPN1050 radio that if he were offered the Mets managerial position he would be interested. This is an interesting development as not only are there reportedly “snags” in the Jerry Manuel contract talks, mainly over a third year I hear, but the fact the Valentine would consider leaving Japan. Valentine is adored in Japan as a hero, and a legend, and heck the NPB(Nippin Pro Baseball) is/was considering asking Valentine to be the commissioner of NPB.
I fully believe Manuel will be back, but if he’s so persistent on this third year, and the Mets deny, then I believe Valentine might be one of the first people he’d call. I’d keep the odds of this very low, but it is definitely an interesting note.
