Listen: Moose Skowron
By Mike Silva ~ February 4th, 2010. Filed under: Yankees Alumni, Yankees Audio.
On Sunday Moose Skowron joined me on NYBD Radio.
Moose had a 14 year career, playing a majority of time with the Yankees. He appeared in 8 World Series, winning 5, including one against the Yanks as a member of the Dodgers. During the 1958 World Series he won Game 6 by driving in two runs in the ninth inning, and hit a 3 run homer in Game 7 to put the series away and cap a 3-1 comeback. Today Moose works in the White Sox organization in community relations.
Hear him talk about how he got the nickname “Moose”, his memories of playing with the Dynasty Yankee teams, and the advice he gave former Mets prospect Carlos Gomez earlier this year.
