Listen: Sunday Hot Stove on NYBD Radio

By Mike Silva ~ January 10th, 2010. Filed under: Radio Show.

Howard joined me tonight to talk about the latest on the hot stove.

We kicked it off talking about the “small” possibility of Johnny Damon returning to the Bronx, and what that means for the Yankees lineup. Can Jorge Posada continue to produce even entering his age 38 season? We give you why that might be a tall order. I speculated about whether Derek Jeter’s rumored nuptials mean the end to his Yankee career sooner, rather than later, and we compare the Yankees and Red Sox rotations. (I even used projected WAR!)

During the back half of the show we debated whether Bengie Molina, Carlos Delgado, and Joel Pineiro would be enough this offseason. Howard gave us reasons why the Mets should take pause with Carlos Delgado. We broke down all the pitching options, and their pros and cons. Howard also told you why the Mets are still not managing “sunk costs” properly.

Finally, hear us talk about the BBWAA controversy and the Hall of Fame to round out the last 10 minutes.
