By Mike Silva ~ December 26th, 2009. Filed under: Audio of the Day, Baseball Audio, NY Baseball Memories.

During the World Series Mike Vaccaro of the NY Post joined me to talk about his just released book “The First Fall Classic: The Red Sox, Giants, and Cast of Pugs, and Politicos Who Reinvented the World Series of 1912.

Mike talks about why he believes why this was when the World Series became a national event. It including five hall of fame players, a hall of fame manager in John McGraw, and two of the best teams assembled in baseball to that date. This was a time when the Giants were considered the elite of the baseball world.

This was a classic series that went seven games, including a tie, and was decided with a walk off hit. Four of the games were decided by one run.

We talk about that season, the series, the some of the political  news that was a backdrop during that times.
