Yanks Top Target is Sheets?

Steve Lombardi of Was Watching shared some information he heard on Michael Kay’s afternoon show from yesterday.
According to Kay, the Yanks want to target Ben Sheets this off season. Sheets is an intriguing case because he has the potential to be a dominant starter, but there are questions about his health.
It probably dates back to his 2004 season, which he pitched 237 innings, but until this year Sheet hasn’t come close to the 200 inning mark. What would scare me is his propensity to be fragile (see labor day game against the Mets).
This type of move is the ultimate high risk/high reward situation. Sheets, in my opinion, could be the Yanks version of Josh Beckett, or he could be another Carl Pavano. Kind of early to have this debate, but I am sure Yankees fans will have lots to say about what type of free agent the team should go after.
