Granderson, Bay, Non Tenders @ 7pm
By Mike Silva ~ December 13th, 2009. Filed under: Radio Show.
Jam packed show as we recap the winter meetings.
We will get to know Curtis Granderson as Lynn Henning of the Detroit News leads off the show. I will get Lynn’s take on Granderson’s struggles against left handed pitching, his ability to adjust to New York, and what he thinks about the three player deal. I will also delve into the Detroit financial situation and if we can see other stars, such as Justin Verlander, traded this offseason.
The Jason Bay contract negotiations are heating up and Howard Megdal of SNY will give us his thoughts. Hear us talk about “Bay Watch” as we discuss the market, compare him to Holliday, and if this is the right move for the Mets in the long and short term.
Maury Brown of the Biz of Baseball rounds out the evening recapping his winter meetings experience. Maury will talk about the new statistical software from Bloomberg, the convention part of the meetings, and his thoughts on the lobby “rumor mill” that caused such a stir.
