Blame the Yanks for Identity Theft

Apparently ticker tape wasn’t enough for some New Yorkers to throw during Friday’s parade. Fox 5 “found paper on the street at the parade that wasn’t shredded and the documents contained very sensitive private information. Among the documents were medical records listing names, addresses, insurance information, medical diagnoses, and other private information. One document was somebody’s stock brokerage account, containing financial information.”
I heard during a news report on 770 AM this morning that one of the perpetrators was disciplined by his company.
Fox 5 is trying to contact the people on the documents. If the banking industry had a brain they would be dangerous. I have to concur with Deadspin when they said that if this happened a year earlier we could have avoided the financial bailout. All these boneheads would have to do is shred their ledgers and use it as confetti.
As someone who knows a bit about ID theft this is no laughing matter. Of course I am being factious blaming the Yankees, but it make for a more interesting headline – no?
It’s kind of scary to know the types of people who are managing important aspects of our life.
