Former Yankee Meulens Named SF Hitting Coach

Congrats to former Yankees prospect Hensley “Bam Bam” Meulens who was named hitting coach of the San Francisco Giants replacing Carney Lansford.

Meulens caught up with NYBD radio in September of 2008 when he as the hitting coach of the AAA Indianapolis Indians.

“Bam Bam” is remembered for being a top prospect in the Yankees farm system during the late eighties and early nineties. He won a championship and MVP in the International League with the Columbus Clippers. After injuries derailed his career in New York, he went on to success in Japan and the 2000 Olympic games.
