This is a pretty strong statement from Stewart. I will give you another layer to this: Think about Pedro Martinez getting another ring with the Phils. The same ring he was brought to NY to obtain.

Wrong. No self respecting Met fan can root for either of these teams. It feels like I got kicked in the gut everytime I think about this. I love baseball and I do think this has the potential to be a great series. I will NOT watch it though. Yes, the Yanks or Phils will win and that is inevitable. What is also inevitable is that we Met fans will either be subjected to even more ridicule from Philly because they went up against the mighty Yankees and beat them when the Mets could not. Or, perhaps worse, we will be subjected to yet another Yankee march down the “Canyon of Heroes”. We Met fans lose either way.

Im a full Mets fan and i say lets go Yankees. Hey at least they have Nick Swisher. hes a Met at heart, its not the Yankees fault that the Mets GM sucks balls right?

The best way I can sum this all up is like this:
I’m not rooting for Philly to win….I’m rooting for the Yanks to lose.

Damon, I likle the way you put it. I’ve been saying that I want the Yankees to lose more than I want the Phillies to lose. At least if the Phillies win, we can say it’s an NL victory.
The good news is the TV ratings for the WS are not what they used to be, and the TV Sweeps are starting, so the other networks are showing new episodes instead of repeats like they used to against the WS. So we have stuff to watch instead of the games.
