Yanks Look For Inspiration From “The Boss”

Many people, both on the Internet and the main stream media, have pointed to the memory of Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart as the driving force behind Anaheim’s win over Boston in the ALDS. I will let others decide if Anaheim finally “getting over the hump” was a case of divine intervention or pure coincidence.

As for the Yankees, they have found their own source of inspiration in the form of retired owner George Steinbrenner. Apparently, it was none other than “The Captain,” Derek Jeter, who recently implored his teammates to “win one for the boss.” This sense of urgency to win a championship comes from the fact that Mr. Steinbrenner’s health has been terrible as of late. Our main Yankees source told us that “He has more bad days than good,” and speaks to people rarely.” There are many people who feel that this might be the last chance that the team has to win a championship for Mr. Steinbrenner, whose health has been a source of much conjecture over the past few years.

Who knows, maybe “win one for the boss” will one day become almost as famous as the phrase “win one for the Gipper.” Only time will tell.
