Hubbuch: Another Reyes Setback

Burnt out from the trading deadline but wanted to add one more via Bart Hubbuch at his twitter.
Apparent setback for Jose Reyes. He didn’t run the bases as expected Thursday and now has no timetable for doing so.
I think it’s time to consider shutting him down for 2009 and getting him 100% healthy for next year. This is a very odd injury.
I spoke to a minor leaguer (positional player) that spent extended spring training with Reyes. He said that Reyes would be able to hit and field with no problem. It was the running part that would result in him coming up lame. I am not a doctor so I won’t even speculate about this. Another reason why it was smart to stand pat at the deadline.
