Phils Sign Pedro?

According to Bart Hubbuch of the NY Post a Domincan newspaper claims that the Phillies have signed Pedro Martinez. Phillies GM Ruben Amaro declined comment.
I often take these reports from Spanish newspapers lightly because of the spotty track record. I will say that Amaro’s response seems to indicate that there is some “smoke and fire” present.
Scott Lauber added that “Pedro Martinez will be in Philly for a physical tomorrow, according to a report in the Dominican Rep. The deal would be for $4 million”
Jon Heyman also adds his two cents.
I bet Pedro will add some spice to the Mets/Phils rivalry.
