Especially since were talking about a 5th starter, all you're really looking for is reliability, not upside. If they're serious about this "open competition" stuff, Ace should clearly be one of the leading candidates, which would leave the Yanks with Joba AND Hughes in the pen, and one of the scariest bullpens ever assembled.
