You mentioned how unhappy the people in the Buffalo organization were with the support they had been getting from the Mets. The Norfolk Tides had been the Mets AAA team for 38 years, with the Mets even kicking in a good-sized chunk of cash to help build Harbor Park (opened 1993). It took Omar and his lack of support for the minor league system 3 years to tear down those 38 years of good will, ending with the Tides switching to the Baltimore organization. Even Steve Phillips treated the Tides better than Omar. The final straw, by the way, was when Omar stopped talking to the Tides GM during the season because he was "too busy trying to win a pennant". No one from the Mets even came down to Norfolk to coordinate with the Tides in 2006. Baltimore comes to town every year to play the Nats. The Mets had stopped playing a game in the stadium they helped pay for the year Omar took over. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. How long do you think it will take Buffalo to give them the boot??
