Listen: Opening Weekend Thoughts at 10pm

By Mike Silva ~ April 3rd, 2011. Filed under: Radio Show.

Hear me give my thoughts on opening weekend tonight on 1240 AM WGBB

I will discuss the “162 one game seasons” mentality of the New York fans and media. Hear me complain about the outrageous cost of a game at Yankee Stadium. I will also talk about the play on the field as I opine about how great the Yankees offense looked and why I still believe the Mets aren’t that bad.

Joining me is Steve S. from The Yankee Analysts, Steve Keane from The Kranepool Society, and Matthew Collier of WGR 550 in Buffalo.

Hey Mike, as far as the 2 interviews I was trying to remember what Hal Steinbrenner, he opened up by saying “Is this going to help me get a date?” Hal was recently divorced, but he’s an ivy league educated, highly wealthy businessman. That was his way of saying how frivolous he finds an interview to be. He’s been very tough to get to o any radio, and the times he has done Francesa/Kay it was for 10 minutes, period. Everything I know and have heard about this ownership group is they have little use for the MSM, and treat it as a necessary evil/annoyance. So when Cashman launches these grenades, I don’t think it’s because HE doesn’t care, its because he knows his boss doesn’t.
