Utley Beats Mets Again in Game 2

By Jed Weisberger ~ October 28th, 2010. Filed under: 1986 Mets vs. 2008 Phillies.

Chase Utley‘s homer and Cole Hamels complete game gave the 2008 Phillies a 1-0 lead in the best of 7 NYBD Sim Series.

Tonight Brett Myers dueled Bobby Ojeda in a classic game that saw the Phillies win in 12 innings 4-2.

Chase Utley blasted his second homer in the twelfth of Jesse Orosco to give the Phils the lead. Brad Lidge would strike out Rick Aguilera (Mets were down to only Ed Hearn on the bench) as the tying run to end it.

Myers would pitch 10.2 innings (yes you heard me right), as Charlie Manuel let him go deep into the game. Bobby Ojeda would strike out 10 in his eight innings of work. Gary Carter hit two homers, his second to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth.

The 2008 Phillies lead the series 2-0 as the scene shifts to Citizens Bank Ballpark for Game 3 to 5.
