Great hour of radio tonight.

Author Larry Tye joins me to discuss his recent book “Satchel: The Life and Times of an American Legend.” We will discuss the great career of Satchel Paige who was estimated to have won 2,000 games and pitch 50 no hitters. In 1948 he joined the Cleveland Indians and helped them to a championship. Larry will describe a story about a baseball player, but more importantly, a lesson from a dark era in America thanks to racial segregation.

At about 7:25 Toby Hyde of SNY’s Mets Minor League Blog will make an appearance. He was recently in Arizona looking at some of the Mets top prospects. We will discuss the recent hire of Wally Backman, Baseball America’s Top 10 Mets Prospects, and how some of the Mets representatives in the AFL are performing.
