Mets All Homegrown Team

Did you ever wonder what a fully homegrown Mets team would look like? Well here is our chance. I went to Baseball Reference and sorted all the active players that were drafted by the Mets and put together a team. For purposes of rounding out the lineup I made international signings part of the mix as well. Here is what I came up with as the “All Homegrown” New York Mets.
Update: Reader SchmidtXTC correctly pointed out that I left Nelson Cruz and Jesus Flores off the team.

This is horrible. I can’t believe that this is the best we could do!

Nelson Cruz in Right? Jason Bay in Left? Jesus Flores Catching? How about Carlos Gomez? Melvin Mora? Octavio Dotel? Heath Bell? Take some time and do a decent job…the team could look alot better.

I flat out left off Flores and Cruz – I will add them and cite the pick up. Don’t know what I was thinking leaving off Flores.
As for Bay, he is not homegrown, he was acquired by Steve Phillips in the Scott Strickland trade from the Expos- Omar dealt him!
