Hear Us Talk Montero, Flores, Thole, Banuelos, and Others

By Mike Silva ~ June 26th, 2009. Filed under: Mets Minors, Yanks Minors.

Jed Weisberger of MLB.com joined me last night to discuss the progress of many of the top Mets and Yankees prospects. Jed covers the Eastern and South Atlantic League’s extensively. He has a great knowledge of both farm systems, it’s a segment that you don’t want to miss. Some of the topics we discussed:

- The development of Jesus Montero to date

- Why Mets fans should be very excited about Josh Thole

- A scouting report of LHP Manuel Banuelos

- Jed’s take on the Savannah roster, specifically how Wilmer Flores has progressed.

- Why it might be a bad idea for the Mets to put young prospects in leagues that aren’t ready for.

- Which young Yankees starting pitcher is closest to the big leagues

- Updates on Pat Venditte, Michael Dunn, and Zach Kroenke

- Why Austin Jackson should spend the season in AAA.

Hey Mike and Jed. I just want to say thanks for the outstanding interview and information. I hope Jed is on the radio a lot more often as he one of the few prospectors I’ve come across who knows more than I do when it comes to Baby Bombers.
