Canseco: Owning the Mets Is Bad For My Portfolio

By Mike Silva ~ March 28th, 2012. Filed under: MLB News.

Looks like Jose Canseco is playing the lottery these days. He’s asked the Mets, Red Sox, A’s and Blue Jays for jobs over the last couple of years, but no one seems to want to take a chance on the 47-year old.  He even said he would play baseball for free, if he won the jackpot. To prove it he reached out to new Dodgers owner Magic Johnson on Twitter.

We all know that Mets fans are not happy with the Wilpon ownership group, but would you take Canseco? Apparently, he’s not interested as he had this to say to a fan:

Canseco was supposed to play in the Mexican League, but was caught with an illegal substance, which he claims he uses to fight  anabolic steroid induced hypogonadism

Just when you want to feel sorry for Canseco, who I believe is getting too much of the blame for steroids in baseball, he tweets ridiculous statements like the one above. He also admitted to driving his  Cadillac CTS-V at 186mph this week.

A little over the speed limit, wouldn’t you say?
