NYBD on WGBB Tonight at 10pm

By Mike Silva ~ April 24th, 2011. Filed under: Radio Show.

I will be on WGBB tonight at 10pm where Mrs. Joan Hodges, wife of the late Gil Hodges, will join me as the headline guest.

Hear me discuss my thoughts on the struggles of Derek Jeter, and how Brian Cashman actually did a good job this offseason. I will breakdown the foolish column about bringing the Dodgers back to New York, the potential new playoff system, and the Mets recent homestand.

NYBD contributor and long time beat reporter Jed Weisberger will join me later in the show to give his take on the latest in New York baseball.

Of course, the replay will be available on Blog Talk Radio about two hours after the show.

Please ask Jed if he has an update on Jesus Montero, who had a rather unfortunate incident this afternoon.

Montero just took a foul ball off the cup. That is just an awful, awful feeling (take it from someone who caught growing up). People think the cup protects that area, but if you get hit there, forget it. There’s still a lot of pain. Montero is on his back now. Looks like he got shot.

That’s a scary scene involving Montero. He was helped to his feet, and his knees buckled. That’s as much pain as I’ve ever seen any player in on the baseball field.
