Josh Hamilton at Yankee Stadium

By Mike Silva ~ October 20th, 2010. Filed under: Mike Silva.

After watching Josh Hamilton use the friendly Yankee Stadium right field porch to his advantage, I said he would benefit from playing his home games at the Stadium.

Jon Heyman had this to say last night as well

if josh hamilton played home games at yankee stadium (and could last a full season), hed hit 60 home runsless than a minute ago via web

I decided to refer to MLB Gameday BIP and see the impact of Hamilton playing his home games at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Looking at a the below graph the dots are his Flyouts, Doubles and Triples. None of his homeruns in Texas would be outs at the Stadium so I took it out.

Based on my dot count Hamilton would hit another 48 homers this year playing home games at Yankee Stadium versus Texas. That would give him an incredible 80 on the year, thus breaking Barry Bonds record.

Obviously, I don’t know how scientific this is, but its fun for discussion.
