    Mike -

Just wanted to add that despite it being a pretty raw and nasty night and the crowd being about 40% capacity due to the holidays,
everyone there was 100% into it. Even my finicky 14 yo daughter
was quick to point out how the fans we’re almost ‘Yankee-like’ in the way they expected to win, rising as one when Jamestown would rally from 5-1 to 5-4 and have the bases loaded and no outs in the 9th down 6-4. That place was more fun to her with 2500 people in it than CitiField with 25,000. It was different here.

Why? She kept commenting how the players ran on and off the field between innings, how the on-deck batter was clapping for the player who was up, how no one had their head down when Jamestown was rallying…she was freezing, but unlike when we went the Mother Day’s Ollie P fiasco and she begged to leave in the 5th inning, she was not budging from her $16 Section 2 seat.

The vibe was was like a late season ’83 crowd at Shea after Strawberry was called up and Keith was here and it started to look like a team. Mookie, Jesse were mainstays and Ronnie got in 5 games in SEPT. And they had a plucky little 2B on that team that got a look in APR and MAY and a cup of coffee in SEPT…26 games total. He turned out OK after awhile…

He’ll be in the dugout on SUN at 5pm as his Cylones try to force a deciding Game 3 of the NY-PENN League Championships. And if you’re close, go see it live…and remember to “Hoist the colors!”. I’ll be there in spirit…BELIEVE! Unlike what’s stinking up Flushing,
there’s no mutiny on this ship…it’s damn the torpedos at MCU…

btw, the team they’re playing, Tri-City…Houston Astros affiliate…
    Ya can’t make it up…LOL ;)

I wonder if Jeff or Fred remember what a meaningful game in SEPT is anymore? Wallyball is giving them one…later today.

Wanna give those Cyclones fans a thrill? Name Wally Mets mgr before the start of the game…stop the charade in Flushing and
the dead man walking that is Jerry Manuel…claim your prize before it gets sold on eBay to the Marlins…but this is the Mets.

Wait, make excuses, raise prices, lather, rinse, defeat, MRF 09.12
