Joba Centerpiece of Haren Deal?

Let’s recap the days events with respect to Dan Haren

- This morning I suggested the Yankees should use the prospects from the Cliff Lee deal to go after Arizona RHP Dan Haren.

- Ken Rosenthal called the Yankees “front runners” for Haren’s services this afternoon. NYBD contributor Frank Russo heard a deal could be done in a few days. He also says acquiring Haren will not stop the Yankees from pursuing Cliff Lee this offseason

John Gambadoro of 620 KTAR in Arizona as well as Frank Piliere of AOL Fanhouse cite rumors that Arizona would receive Joba Chamberlain, Ivan Nova, and Zach McAllister (his dad is a scout for the D-Backs) for Haren. There are some secondary pieces being discussed, but there is scuttlebutt that, although a deal isn’t imminent, one could be wrapped up by the end of the weekend.

    If the reported deal of Haren for Joba, Nova and Z-Mac is true, then Cashman should be arrested for robbery.
