Ballpark Dress Code and Locker Room Access

By Mike Silva ~ June 20th, 2010. Filed under: Mike Silva.

Ever since Lady Gaga showed up at Citi Field in a bra and underwear people have been complaining about her boorish behavior. I don’t know much about the singer, but from what I have read this is typical behavior from “Madonna lite.” Bigger question is why is security letting her in with the way she is dressed? Would any other female, regardless of their physical appearance, be allowed to romp around Citi Field and Yankee Stadium like that?

Obviously I know the answer to that question. Security is not about to take a chance and tick off a celebrity for fear of repercussions. Additionally, it’s easy to bribe a star struck stadium employee when a famous performing flirts with them.

Kudos to Hal Steinbrenner for addressing the issue about Lady Gaga’s entrance into the Yankees locker room yesterday. I believe the locker room is a sanctuary for the players and even have problems with the media spending time in there. I believe there should be some sort of room where access is given and writers can request the players they want to speak to. In the new clubhouses it’s so easy to hide so essentially that is what many have to do anyway.

So is there a dress code at the ballpark? Maybe we can get hard hitting ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews on the case. She knows a thing or two about self absorbed publicity stunts and can break down the analysis for layman like me.

My Dear Fellow, You’ve mistaken GaGa for a publicity stunt. She attended the game wearing what she usually wears, EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTS, no stunt here, just GaGa being GaGa.

Somebody needs to tell Lady (I use that loosely) Madonna-wannabe that she is not as great as she thinks herself to be.
I am a baseball fan and I do not want to see half-naked women, pretty or not, sitting around the ballpark. It’s a family atmosphere and I shouldn’t have to explain to my nephew why it’s ok for this quasi-talented person to wear underwear to a game and it’s not ok for my dad to wear his underwear to check the mail.
I also must say that she isn’t very attractive, so I don’t know why she thinks that we would WANT to see her out in public anyway.

The Yanks are playing the Mets this weekend and this is the best you can come up with to write about? Dress Code?
Hey Mikey, first, dont’ be throwing rocks until you examine your own glass house, or did you forget Mrs. A-Roid’s classy T-shirt act?
And second, where do you get off taking cheap shots at anyone for being a “hard hitting” reporter when you produce lame material like this crap.

If you read the site in detail you would see that I was having some fun with the Gaga incident. You don’t like it, fine, but the bottom line is both Gaga and Erin Andrews are transparent as to who they really are – and neither belongs in the sports arena.
