Listen: Mr. October’s Takes on Mad Dog Russo

By Mike Silva ~ May 2nd, 2010. Filed under: Videos.

Thanks to Steve Lombardi of Was Watching for bringing this to my attention. Earlier last week Reggie Jackson took Chris “Mad Dog” Russo to task for his criticizing Alex Rodriguez for the whole Dallas Braden/running across the mound scenario. Reggie took Braden to task, as most everyone in the Yankees organization.

Apparently Jackson called in again the next day to refute Russo’s assertion that Jackson is suffering from “the disease of me.” I wonder if this is a ploy by the struggling Mad Dog Radio to gain some attention.

Ironically Dayn Perry of Fox Sports joined me last Sunday on 1240 AM WGBB to talk about his book on Reggie Jackson called Reggie Jackson: The life and thunderous career of baseball’s Mr. October.

  1. Steve

Chris Russo is, by design, a jerk. I live in Boston and once saw him on NESN up here before a Red Sox game talking with the Sox broadcast crew. In no uncertain terms did he hide his dislike for the Yankees. I was not surprised, having listened to my fair share of Mike and the Mad Dog while I lived in the greater-NYC area. When I read any of his comments attacking the Yankees, I just remember that day on air when he said, “I can’t stand the Yankees. I hate them.” His attacks on ARod and Reggie is just more of the same.
