The Vice President Talking Mets Baseball?

By Mike Silva ~ September 1st, 2008. Filed under: Mike Silva.

The video below was found by Neil Best at his Watchdog blog on Newsday. Its the former Sarah Heath, now Sarah Palin, Senator John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election. Why am I post this? No, I am not trying to push a political agenda (we have our buddy Howard Megdal doing that!, just teasing Howard), but rather giving you a Mets clip as a blast from the past.

If you fast foward the video to the 3 minute 11 second mark you will see a spring training game in March of 1988 between the Mets and eventual champion Dodgers. Names like Gregg Jeffries, John Shelby, and Brian Holton will grace your screen. I even think I saw a glimpse of Keith Miller playing the outfield. Not to spoil the video, but Pedro wasn’t the first Mets to experience malfunctioning sprinklers.
